I made a sweet little bag filled with lots of symbolic small gifts for my (now) daughter-in-law to cheer her up. She just had a very bad time then and neede it.
Thanks so much for the lovely bag pattern!

What a great bag and tutorial! The best gift I've ever given (at least based on the receivers excitement level) was a handmade book of love coupons :-)

Hmm....best Valentine's gift? Gee, most years I don't even get a card! I guess I'll have to go back to my childhood. I remember getting a card and a small gift but nothing that I really remember. Maybe an Avon perfume bottle with hearts on it.

I like making a special Valentine's dessert.

We have birthdays all around Valentine's Day - so those kind of take priority and we downplay the Valentines... I guess the best then would be my son's birth - though he was a bit delayed beyond the 14th.

I always make a special dinner for Valentines Day!
The first Valentines mini quilt for my first grandchild.
LOVE that pic - it should be a card! Hmmm, I gave my niece an adorable handmade pink bag with a Valentine's stuffed animal & candy several years back. She loves stuffed animals and who doesn't like candy? I think it was her favorite!
We don't typically celebrate Valentines dinner so no great gifts are coming to mind right now. However, this year may be the best gift because I'm expecting on the 18th. Somehow I have a feeling this will be a valentine's baby! I definitely won't be able to top that gift!
I signed up for your newsletter, can't get the link to work to follow. Will try again later. Love the bag, thanks for the tutorial!!

Last year we gave our oldest dayghter a bracelet that made her cry! I didn't think it was much at the time, but to her it meant something and that makes it special!!!
I'm following you on Google Reader.
Absolutely, the picture is just the cutest! If it's not on a card it should be, in the least, displayed as a poster on your wall!
Don't really remember any one gift as 'special'. I just love that my husband loves me. :)
Flowers are my favorite valentines day gift! I love to smell the fresh flowers when its cold and snowy outside.

This is the sweetest bag ever, do the children come with:). My favorite gifts were home made valentines my kids and grandkids made.
One year I was very ambitious and made homemade valentines cards to send to my family. I used a deck of playing cards. It was a lot of fun for me and I believe they enjoyed receiving them.
My favorite gift given is that one that I am making my husband for this year. I found a pattern for a robot quilt and I am rushing to get it done by the 14th!

My time - I try to make sure my husband and children know I love them. Sometimes I make their favorite meal. Sometimes I bake their favorite cookies. Every year it's a little different but I try to pause and give them an extra little bit of my time in some way.

The best Valentine's gift I've ever given was a weekend getaway to the coast to my husband. I got to go, too :) Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway.

My favorite gift I have given was a mini scrapbook I made with my kids for their dad. They each told me things they love about him and we made pages with those things and put pictures of him with each child throughout. It is one of his favorite things.
I guess the best valentine present was a dinner I prepared for my boyfriend, with a heartshapped cake and everything!
not to imaginative here we just do chocolate and extra kisses cause they make everyone happy. love the tote. and green fairy quilts love you too. janita
The first Valentines day that my now husband and I were together I made him a full Valentine's breakfast with waffles and a baked apple with raspberries and had a home-made card for him and chocolates. I guess it doesn't sound like a "best" ever present, but it stands out in my mind because we were just so happy and appreciative of what we each did for each other.
We don't play up Vday too much around here, but it will probably be this year (and probably today, USPS willing...LOL) I made my daughter a Vday wall hanging for her dorm room 1900 miles away.
I am a follower, thanks for the opportunity!!
The best V-day gift I have ever given...... hmmmmm that is a good question. It might yet to be given....
I am now a follower. Thanks.
Super cute tote! Wow, I am not sure I've ever given or received a 'best' valentine's gift! I have made a few special dinners and special desserts, and once sewed a down vest as a gift, but none of my efforts 'wow-ed' the recipients, so I guess I'd better keep trying! :)
My daughter made me a card last year with the help of my mom, it was twice as special coming from both of them.

Last year I made a photo book for my husband. It had lots of old pictures of trips we had taken, our son when he was young, etc. We've been together over 25 years so there were lots of great memories to include in the book. It was fun making the book too -- loved looking through all those old pictures!
Such a pretty tote. One cannot have enough totes ever. Thank you.
I have a number of gifts I've given that I was super excited to give. The one that comes to mind right this second however, is a poem that I wrote for my husband that I framed and gave to him. He loved it and that is still hanging on the wall right next to his desk in our living room.
I am already a follower via email subscription but also, I just added your blog to my google reader as well.
I make the BEST valentine cookies & I give dozens of them away every year. My friends have already started asking me when I was going to bake this year's batch! Your tote is darling. Thanks for the tute!
Hhmm the best gift given....probably a surprise night out for my DH. He didn't see it coming!
The best Valentines day gift I've ever given was a little pillow with my daughters name appliqued on it. It was my first attempt at such a thing - looked terrible - but 5 years later, she still keeps it on her bed with her! It makes me happy that even a little girl can appreciate a gift from the heart!!
Great bag!! I can't wait to make one!
My favorite gift I have given would be a surprise steak BBQ for hubby. Steak is his favorite food! AND I gave him a huge, HUGE valentine's day card. Thanks for the giveaway chance.

The best Valentine's gift I have ever given was to my then 13 year old daughter. She was having problems at school with being teased about all kinds of things. I ordered a bouquet of flowers, a teddy bear, and some candy and had it delivered to her at the school in front of everyone. She then became the "cool" girl for a while and the teasing stopped.
we found out in early Feb 2009 we were having twins. Best present I ever gave my husband!
Thanks for the tutorial and giveaway. Best Valentine's gift given - homemade cherry pie.
The best Valentine present I ever gave was a small tea rose to my mother-in-law. She was so pleased with it. She later died that day. The rose bloomed on at our house for 5 more years keeping her as a living memory. I was so glad I took the time to do that for her.
I have long been a follower and you are on my blog roll too. Thanks so much for all the time you put into blogging.
I made my husband a grilled steak dinner with all the trimmings - twice baked potato, sauteed onions and mushrooms, tossed salad. I don't think I should mention what dessert was! ;)

lol, don't think I should put on a public post but I prepared a romantic dinner for my DH and myself as my son was sick and we couldn't go out and my gift was my daughter 9 months later :O) , she was conceived on that valentines evening :)
Don't know about giving, but I received something really nice and practical last year. I came back from a mission trip to Nicaragua around valentines, and I came home to chocolates, flowers all over the house (Fresh cut and plants!) and to top it all off a nice deep non stick frying pan that my husband really thought I needed! What a welcome home!
My favorite for Valentine's day is chocolate(especially Lindor's white truffles)!
I love giving Valentine's to my 3 boys and even though they are all grown up, I still love it every year.

Best gift I ever gave was a pair of Scooby Doo heart shorts. He thought they were cute. :)
Best Valentine's gift was a tribal necklace for my boyfriend. He wears it everyday, doesn't believe it should be taken off, grudgingly does so when he gets a haircut, and it's two years later. Thanks for the giveaway!
And, I'm a follower! Yay!
My freshman year at college I was so lonesome for my family, I hand made old-fashioned valentines for my parents, each of my siblings and their kids. That was about 12 people at the time. I've kept up the tradition and now it's 23 people! It's a lot of work, but my kids help me out now, and it shows a lot of love.
I follow your blog. Thanks for the give away!

I try to make a special meal and dessert on valentines day for my husband, some years are better than others...thanks for the giveaway!
I think the best Valentine gift I have ever given was a homemade steak dinner, with all the sides, and a bottle of wine, along with one of the first movies we went to see as a couple (it inspired our first kiss and turned us from just friends to a couple).
Last year I made this DELICIOUS popcorn drizzled in chocolate and cinnamon and then we gave it to my kids' teachers. I have to say that was one of the best gifts I've given, 'cause I kinda didn't want to give it, but eat it all myself. And they say the best gifts are the ones you want to keep, right? ;)
I like to make home made valentine cards and their favorite dinner. :)
Thank so much for the great tutorial. Such a cute bag. My husband always gets me a miniature rose which I enjoy indoors until it's warm enough to plant outdoors. Thanks for the chance on your giveaway.
I love this tote, so sweet! My best valentine's day gift ever was a homemade dinner, romantic candles on the table, and the kids at a babysitters for the evening!

I usually just do cards and candy on Valentine's.
I am a follower! The tote pattern is great. :)
The tote & the kids are so cute! The best gift I've ever "given" was a special dinner & dessert made for my family.
Hi,
The best Valentine I've ever GIVEN is a little quilt I made 5 years ago for my husband. It's a red heart appliqued to a white background with red borders. What's special about this is that I stitched white beads on the heart to spell "LOVE." Very simple, which is how he loves to live life...simply. Also, that year we celebrated our 20th anniversary on Feb.17th so I wanted all of that year's gifts to be very special. Now, our 25th anniversary is this Feb. 17th and I don't have a clue what to do for that or for Valentine's Day!! :-)
The best gift I have given is a paper cutting of an antique valentine that I made for a friend.
Debbie
Wow adorable tote. My best Valentine gift would be the year I was first a mom an my hubby gave me a locket with our babies photo and engraved on the back, "thanks mommy". Melted my heart, still does to think about it.
Thank you so much for the super cute and super easy tote!!

I think the best Valentine's gift I ever gave was in third grade. There was a boy that wanted a Valentine from me but was too shy to give me one. I remember giving him one even though I was teased mercilessly by the other kids!!
The best gift given was probably a smoking set for my Mr. He loves his stinky cigars and I know they're terrible for him but he loves them so it made him happy!
Best gift I gave was a bag full of 100 chocolate kisses with a reason I loved my boyfriend at the time (now my husband) taped to each one!
I just made my favorite Valentine's gift...a tiny pillow - about 8" square with a front from "15 min to play" (hand-made fabric from scraps) and pieced into a heart shape (tutorial also from same web site)
And, I'm a follower :)
My favorite gift I gave was a list of 100 reasons why I love my husband (he still has it). This tote is absolutely darling -- great picture too!
My favorite gift was a ring with many red little hearts pending.
I'm a follower.Thanks for the giveaway.
One year I made chocolate waffles for the whole family with berry sauce and whipped cream... we all still talk about it! christina112358 at gmail dot com
My favorite Valentine was sending a singing telegram to my hubby. The guy dressed up as a policeman and went to my hubby's work. Hee hee hee.
Such a cute bag! We haven't really been huge on Valentine's gifts, but this year, for the 14 days leading up to Valentine's, I'm hiding a kid's Scooby Doo valentine for my husband somewhere in the house, with a Reese's peanut butter heart attached to it. On the card I write one reason why I love him. It's not much, but he sure is enjoying finding those notes! ;)
Hmmm... We're not incredibly big on Valentines Day around here. However, when I was a preteen, I stayed home to babysit my siblings while Mom and Dad went on a date. That's a pretty good gift, isn't it?
Nice tote. Love any bag made from fabric. Thanks for the chance to win.
I made a wall hanging one year. One of my own design.
Thank so much for the tote pattern.
Hubs and I don't usually give gifts for Valentine's Day, just go out for dinner. BUT one year ( around 25 yrs ago) he sent me a beautiful plant which is still alive and growing right now. :)
Yes I am one of your followers too. :)
I gave my husband a waffle maker one year. We use it all the time so I'd say it was the best gift. :)

A very cute picture, I agree it could very well be a hallmark card picture, it is so cute. My favourite valentine day was my nephew and his wife getting married in Melbourne 3 years ago, It was a fabulous day.

I loved the look on my sweet Mama's face when I gave her my handmade Valentine. She made me feel as though it was a prized possession and the greatest gift she had ever received.
