Here are some recipes:
Plum Jam
5 cups plums (peeled and roughly chopped -- lots of work with little (but yummy) results)
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
Combine plums, sugar and water in a large saucepot and boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cook rapidly to gelling point and then stir as it thickens until it passes the spoon test (falls off of spoon in a sheet, not drops) or cold plate test (set like jam when placed on a cold plate and chilled to room temp). Ladle into hot jars and process in a boiling water canner. Yield: 3 pints
Plum Smoothie:
About 20 small chopped up plums
1 banana
1 orange, segmented
1/2 cup juice (such as juicy juice)
1 contained yogurt (whatever flavor you like)
Give these a whirl in the blender or food processor until they reach the desired consistancy. Add honey if needed for sweetness.
I hope this helps if you are in fruit overload like me. Be sure to come back tomorrow for my 200th post giveaway!
